Job summary

Delaware North Australia is hiring a Commis Chef to join our team at Lizard Island Resort. You will collaborate with senior chefs to create dishes and contribute to a 5-star guest experience in a vibrant kitchen.

The ideal candidate has prior Commis Chef experience, a Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, and a passion for food with a flair for presentation. Onboarding includes training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef in a kitchen setting.
• Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate.
• Passion for food and creative flair; ability to follow recipes precisely.
• Strong hygiene practices and knowledge of HACCP and WHS standards.
• Proven track record meeting targets for food costs and labor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a range of dishes in a high-volume production setting.
• Follow recipes for menu preparation and adhere to cooking guidelines.
• Execute food preparation tasks with a focus on presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area.
• Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance and conduct temperature/quality checks.
