The role focuses on profitable underwriting and management of a commercial portfolio under delegated authorities, collaborating with broking teams and insurer partners to deliver sound outcomes.

This is an opportunity for an insurance professional to advance their underwriting career within a growing agency, emphasising technical underwriting and relationship management.

Qualifications

• Commercial underwriting experience within the insurance market.
• Strong technical underwriting capability across commercial products.
• Customer-focused with ability to develop broker relationships.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellations per delegated authorities.
• Manage a profitable existing portfolio of commercial insurance.
• Assess risks and apply sound underwriting judgement.
• Build and maintain broker and insurer relationships.
• Negotiate outcomes within delegated authority.
• Identify opportunities to improve retention and portfolio growth.
• Contribute to product enhancements and underwriting guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with authorities and procedures.
• Maintain accurate policy records and underwriting docs.
• Share technical knowledge with colleagues.
