Job summary

Haymond Consulting Group Pty Ltd in Smithfield, NSW is seeking an experienced CNC Metal Machinist to join the production team. The role covers setting up, programming and operating CNC milling and turning machines to meet production targets with a focus on quality and precision.

You will work with an experienced team, interpret drawings, maintain tight tolerances and perform quality checks. A Certificate III/IV in machining and Heidenhain knowledge are preferred, with Australians working rights

Qualifications

• Certificate III qualification with relevant on-the-job training or Certificate IV in machining.
• Previous experience working as CNC or Metal Machinist.
• Heidenhain programming knowledge.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering/workshop drawings.
• Experience working to precise measurements and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate CNC machinery.
• Interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.
• Determine machining sequences and machine settings.
• Perform face milling, drilling, tapping, boring and chamfering.
• Work within specified tolerances and production requirements.
• Conduct quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
• Ensure components meet internal quality and traceability standards.
• Monitor machine performance and production efficiency.
• Assist with preventative machine maintenance.
• Identify and troubleshoot machine faults.
• Work closely with machinists, production staff and service technicians.
