Job summary

Real Steel Group Pty Ltd in Queanbeyan East NSW is seeking a qualified CNC Machinist to join our precision machining team. You will program, set up and operate CNC machines to produce high-tolerance components from detailed drawings and specifications, with emphasis on accuracy and quality.

The role is full-time, with overtime opportunities, and offers varied, high-quality precision machining work in a professional, quality-focused workshop alongside an experienced team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CNC Machinist in manufacturing/engineering.
• Experience in CNC programming, setting and operation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC machines.
• CNC milling and/or turning of precision components.
• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Selecting appropriate tooling and preparing materials for machining.
• Monitoring machining operations and making adjustments where required.
• Inspecting finished components to ensure specified tolerances and quality requirements are met.
• Using precision measuring equipment, including vernier calipers and micrometers.
• Identifying and resolving machining and quality issues.
• Completing relevant production and quality assurance documentation.
• Performing routine machine maintenance and keeping machinery and work areas in good working order.
