Job summary

RHL Recruitment Australia invites applications for a CNC Machinist in Sydney. You will engage in precision machining and manufacturing across diverse projects, reading drawings, setting up and programming CNC machines, and ensuring tight tolerances with metrology tools.

The role sits in a small collaborative workshop with opportunities to enhance skills on DMG MORI 5-axis equipment. The ideal candidate holds a first-class machinist trade qualification and 3+ years of CNC experience, including

Qualifications

Australian recognized Trade Qualification as a First-Class Machinist.
CNC operator and programmer with 3+ years of experience.
Programming experience with SolidWorks.
Programming experience with ESPRIT or similar software.
Experience with DMG MORI 5-axis machines or similar.

Responsibilities

Programming/setting and operating various CNC machines for production of specialised metal components.
Understanding and reading technical drawings and specifications.
Performing inspections to ensure conformance.
Reviewing CAM-generated toolpaths and optimising cycle times.
Troubleshooting machine issues, tool wear and alarms.
Collaborating with production supervisor and staff to improve workflow.
Maintaining tight tolerances.
Using precision measuring tools to verify accuracy and quality.
