Job summary

Viva Leisure Group, home of Plus Fitness Rydalmere, is seeking a Club Manager to lead the gym through its relocation to a brand-new facility. You will oversee operations, safety, and member experience while guiding the team and collaborating with retail and wellness colleagues to deliver a connected, community-focused club.

You will stay hands-on with personal training and group fitness, demonstrate leadership by example, and maintain high standards in service and operations as the club grows

Qualifications

• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong knowledge of and a passion for the Fitness Industry.
• Experience in sales and customer service within the fitness or retail sectors.
• Demonstrated people management and team leadership experience.
• Proven sales aptitude with a results-driven mindset and ability to meet targets.
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills, engaging both team and clients to strengthen the brand.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Drive new member sign-ups and renewals; implement strategies to enhance satisfaction and retention.
• Ensure high-quality service for members and guests; handle complaints promptly.
• Maintain high standards of operational procedures; manage club administration and safety.
• Ensure activities and equipment comply with health and safety regulations.
• Recruit, train, schedule and manage in-club staff; maintain morale.
• Plan and execute local marketing campaigns and community engagement events.
• Oversee development and scheduling of fitness programs and classes.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of something new from dayone. Plus Fitness Rydalmere is moving into a brand-new facility(just down the road), complete with expanded retail and wellnessspace alongside the gym, and we're looking for a Club Manager tolead the gym through this transition.

Reporting to the Facility Manager, you'll take ownership of thegym space and be the face of Plus Fitness for our members. You'lllead the team through the move into the new site, making sure everymember, prospect and visitor has a positive experience. You'll lookafter gym standards, equipment safety and presentation, and drivemember satisfaction, growth and a vibrant club culture. You'll workclosely with the Facility Manager and the teams across retail andwellness so the whole facility feels connected. You'll also stayhands-on, getting involved in personal training and group fitnessto keep fitness at the heart of the club.

You'll thrive in this role if you're approachable, organised andpassionate about fitness, and you lead by example. You'recomfortable juggling shifting priorities in a fast-pacedenvironment, and you communicate well with your team, your membersand your Facility Manager.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness toobtain)
• Strong knowledge of and a passion for the FitnessIndustry
• Experience in sales and customer service, ideally withinthe fitness or retail sectors
• Demonstrated people management and team leadershipexperience
• Proven sales aptitude with a results-driven mindset andability to meet targets
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with apassion for engaging both team members and clients tostrengthen the brand. Skilled in supporting diverse tasks andmentoring future leaders to help them achieve peakperformance
• Proven ability to drive operational excellence throughstrong organisational and formal operational skills. Capable ofmanaging multiple priorities effectively, with a proactivemindset, eagerness to learn, and agility in adapting toevolving business needs
• Ability to be a role model and live our Viva values, andbehaviours while being passionate about our brands. You willdemonstrate professionalism, respect, courtesy and support
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word,Excel, Outlook)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive new member sign-ups, manage renewals, and implementstrategies to enhance member satisfaction and retention
• Ensure all members and guests receive high-quality service;handle complaints and feedback promptly and professionally
• Maintain high standard of operational procedures. Manageadministration, auditing and organisation of the club, ensuringall areas are clean, safe, and fully operational
• Ensure all activities, equipment, and facilities complywith health and safety regulations and industry standards
• Recruit, train, schedule and manage in club staff; ensurehigh team performance and morale
• Plan and execute local marketing campaigns, communityengagement events, and promotions to increase visibility andattract new members
• Oversee the development and scheduling of fitness programsand classes, ensuring they meet member needs and industrytrends
