Job summary

DSS Facilities is seeking an experienced cleaning operations leader to oversee day-to-day activities across council and commercial contracts in the Sydney area. The role focuses on delivering contract-compliant cleaning services, managing staff, and maintaining strong relationships with council representatives and other stakeholders.

Ideal candidates will have proven experience with commercial cleaning contracts, strong KPI and reporting capabilities, and the ability to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of cleaning scopes, KPIs, and contract compliance.

• Good computer skills and experience with reporting systems.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

Manage day-to-day cleaning operations across council and commercial contracts

Maintain strong relationships with council representatives, contract administrators and other key stakeholders

Ensure all contractual obligations, cleaning specifications and service-level agreements are met

Conduct regular site inspections, quality audits and performance reviews

Manage cleaning supervisors, team leaders and cleaning staff across multiple locations

Monitor staff attendance, rosters, timesheets and labour costs

Manage client complaints, incidents, corrective actions and service improvements

Prepare monthly reports, operational updates and performance documentation

Monitor KPIs and ensure compliance with contract requirements

Ensure compliance with work health and safety requirements and company procedures

About you

Proven experience managing commercial cleaning contracts, preferably local council contracts

Experience working with councils, government clients or public-sector organisations

Strong knowledge of cleaning scopes of work, specifications, KPIs and contract compliance

Experience managing multiple sites, cleaning teams and operational budgets

Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills

Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities

Experience conducting audits, inspections and preparing management reports

Good computer skills and experience with operational reporting systems

A current driver's licence and the ability to travel between sites
