Job summary

QBE Insurance Group in Parramatta is seeking a skilled Claims Officer to join the Commercial Property Claims team. You will help deliver exceptional claims service, analyse policy coverage, and manage investigation, evaluation, and negotiation of various cases.

In this hybrid role, you will stay up to date with guidelines, build strong client relationships, and process claims to reach accurate settlements while maintaining confidentiality.

Your new role

In this role, you will:

• Stay up to date with insurance guidelines and policy changes, ensuring compliance.
• Resolve non-compliant issues and escalation when necessary to maintain standards.
• Build strong client relationships, responding to requests promptly and professionally.
• Process property claims, determine coverage, and ensure accurate settlements.
• Set reserves, authorise payments, and efficiently manage claim resolutions.
• Identify and report suspicious claims, while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders and adhering to confidentiality guidelines.

About You

To succeed and grow in this role, you will bring:

• Previous claims officer experience general insurance claims experience (property is highly advantageous)
• Excellent customer service experience with a passion to grow and develop into a property insurance professional
• A strong focus on customer service with the ability to build rapport over the phone and handle varying customer expectations and demands
• A highly empathetic approach to dealing with customers, possessing the ability to be friendly yet professional
• Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills
• Can do attitude
