Job summary

Crossmuller is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join our construction team at Somersby, NSW. You will support civil professionals, develop design plans and supervise on-site testing and inspections to ensure quality and safety.

The role requires reading drawings, understanding materials, and delivering accurate data and calculations while working within a safe, team-based environment. Pre-employment medicals may be required as part of selection for this Australian-owned

Qualifications

• Experience as Civil Engineering Technician or equivalent in civil infrastructure projects.
• Ability to follow test procedures and record results accurately.
• Ability to read and interpret simple engineering drawings, plans and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Developing drawings, diagrams, charts and design plans for civil infrastructure projects.
• Carrying out and overseeing on-site works and completing civil engineering testing procedures.
• Reviewing task briefs, determining suitable methods and choosing appropriate tools and equipment.
• Gathering and evaluating data and performing relevant calculations.
• Calculating material and cost estimates, and confirming completed work meets required specifications, regulatory standards and contractual terms.
• Reviewing civil works on-site and coordinating and overseeing upkeep and repair activities.
• Performing field and laboratory analysis of construction materials and soils and collecting information to support traffic survey work.
• Communicating effectively with management, operators, Team Leaders and incoming and outgoing shifts.
• Operating in a team environment with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
• Considering the safety and welfare of yourself and others by following all safety requirements.
• Maintaining safety standards and good housekeeping practices.

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join our Crossmuller Construction team based at our Somersby, NSW facility.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will provide technical support to Civil Engineering Professionals and Engineering Technologists across civil and infrastructure projects.

You will be responsible for:

• Developing drawings, diagrams, charts and design plans for civil infrastructure projects.

This is a full-time position. Salary for this position will be not less than $79,499 per annum.

• A Civil Engineering Diploma or equivalent experience.
• A basic understanding of construction materials.
• he ability to follow test procedures and record results accurately.
• The ability to read and interpret simple engineering drawings, plans and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
