Job summary

Crossmuller in Somersby, NSW, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team at the Somersby facility. This full-time role covers scoping, design, installation and commissioning of production processing machinery.

You will design equipment, review drawings, coordinate labour and materials, liaise with stakeholders, and contribute to safety, quality and continuous improvement. A Mechanical Engineering degree and at least two years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum two years of engineering experience.
• Experience installing production processing machinery.
• Strong technical, analytical, numerical and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in risk assessments, hazard identification and toolbox meetings.
• Maintain high standards of workplace health and safety, quality and housekeeping.

About The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team based at our Somersby, NSW manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

This role will provide mechanical engineering support across the scoping, design, installation and commissioning of engineering projects involving production processing machinery. You will be responsible for:

• Designing mechanical equipment, machinery, components, plant and systems
• Providing engineering input into the installation, assembly, maintenance and commissioning of machinery
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, materials and equipment
• Coordinating project labour, materials, plant and equipment
• Liaising with management, contractors, consultants, suppliers and production teams
• Investigating and assisting with engineering and technical issues
• Preparing project plans addressing safety, quality and environmental requirements
• Monitoring project risks, costs, progress and resource requirements
• Supporting continuous improvement and efficient use of people and equipment

This is a full-time position, with a compressed working week of Monday to Thursday (6:00am-4:00pm). Salary for this position will be not less than $79,499 per annum.

About You

To be considered for this position you will have:

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or other related engineering degree
• At least two years’ engineering experience
• Experience supporting projects involving the installation of production processing machinery
• Strong technical, analytical, numerical, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong coordination, leadership and problem-solving skills
• A practical, organised and solutions-focused approach
• A commitment to workplace health and safety
