Job summary

Kogan People Solutions is seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Technician in Truganina, VIC, to support a builder delivering detached and multi-unit dwellings across Western and Northern growth corridors. The role involves providing practical technical support between consulting engineers and construction teams from site investigations through to construction and completion.

The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma or higher in Civil Engineering, have at least three years of post-qualification

Qualifications

• Diploma level or higher in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• At least three years of post-qualification experience.
• Sound ability to interpret geotechnical, civil and structural drawings and engineering specifications.
• Practical experience with CAD documentation, quantity measurement, site set-out and/or construction materials testing.
• Good knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and residential construction requirements.
• Strong technical, organisational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers and construction teams.
• A current construction induction White Card and driver licence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assist with geotechnical and site investigations, including field observations, soil sampling and maintenance of testing records.
• Review geotechnical reports and site classifications and incorporate engineer-specified footing, slab, drainage and site requirements into project documentation.
• Prepare and amend civil drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD/Civil 3D, including site levels, earthworks, drainage, retaining and crossover details.
• Undertake supporting technical calculations and measurements covering earthworks, levels, grades, drainage, quantities and construction materials, subject to engineering review where required.
• Liaise with consulting engineers, construction teams and other technical professionals, preparing technical briefs, RFIs, drawing mark-ups and supporting documentation.
• Calculate civil and structural quantities and assist with technical scopes, specifications, tender documentation and assessment of materials and construction alternatives.
• Undertake and coordinate site testing, surveying and set-out activities, including levels, benchmarks, compaction, concrete sampling and construction verification.
• Inspect civil and structural works against approved engineering drawings and specifications, identify any issues and monitor corrective work.
• Prepare and coordinate technical documentation for Council, water authority, building permit and other relevant approval processes.
• Maintain engineering drawings, test results, approvals, inspection records and other technical documentation.

As they continue to grow, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Technician to provide technical support between consulting engineers and construction teams. Location: Truganina VIC Salary: $80,000–$85,000 plus superannuation per annum Tenure: Full time and ongoing

The role Working with construction teams and external civil, structural and geotechnical engineers, you will provide practical civil engineering technical support across residential projects from site investigation and pre-construction through to construction and completion. Key responsibilities include:

About you To be considered, we expect you to have:

• A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or a closely related discipline at Diploma level or higher or agreed substitute.
• At least three years of relevant post-qualification experience
• Sound ability to interpret geotechnical reports, civil drawings, structural drawings and engineering specifications.
• Practical experience with CAD documentation, quantity measurement, site set-out and/or construction materials testing.
• Good knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and residential construction requirements.
• Strong technical, organisational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers and construction teams.
• A current construction induction White Card and driver licence.

Experience with Victorian residential greenfield developments, earthworks testing and Council or water authority technical submissions will be highly regarded.
