Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast Inc in Maroochydore, QLD, seeks a Chief Executive Officer to lead strategic direction and represent the organisation across levels of government and partners.

The CEO will connect stakeholders, manage governance, drive investment in people and places, support decarbonisation, and oversee budgets and reporting, with a focus on outcomes for the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa regions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day affairs of the RDA Committee and its personnel.

• Oversee communications strategy and annual reporting.
• Ensure prudent financial management and compliance with funding agreements.

Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast Inc – Maroochydore QLD

Regional Development Australia (RDA) Moreton Bay & Sunshine Coast is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to represent an innovative organisation committed to developing its region of Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa, and work with regional RDAs to develop Queensland. The CEO will connect stakeholders and facilitate opportunities, advise government, manage committee governance, and provide strategic leadership and management support to the RDA Committee.

Key responsibilities

Facilitate investment in people, places, services, and industries and local economies

Support regional stakeholders, including local government and the not-for-profit-sector, to seek grant opportunities that advance strategic regional priorities

Support decarbonisation efforts and the transformation to a net zero economy and enable regional linkages between sectors to achieve these aims

Build the evidence for economic development, including innovation and diversification strategies

Facilitate meaningful engagement across the three levels of government, and with diverse communities (especially First Nations people) to ensure investments deliver better outcomes for the region(s)

Contribute relevant data and local intelligence to support the evidence base to inform regional development strategies, program design and policy

Manage the day-to-day affairs of the RDA Committee and its personnel in a manner consistent with the Guide, the Committee's Annual Business Plan and Budget, the Funding Agreement, and its constitution

Develop the RDA Committee's Annual Business Plan and Budget, Annual Report on Outcomes, Annual Audited Accounts, Communications Strategy, and associated management delivery strategies

Undertake the accountable and transparent management of RDA Committee funds under the oversight of the Chair

Lead and develop RDA Committee personnel (where agreed by the Committee) and be involved in the recruitment of staff

About you

Demonstrated strategic thinking with experience at very senior levels in business and considerable experience in strategic vision setting and achieving outcomes for large or complex business enterprises

Strong analytic ability with experience in complex environments dealing with high level problems involving multiple competing factors and a high degree of ambiguity

Considerable experience working with more than one level of government and a track record of working with diverse communities (especially First Nations people)

Successful experience managing a broad range of stakeholders in complex environments to achieve successful outcomes, with high degree of experience in managing complex relationships including conflict between stakeholders

Very strong track record in delivering successful business outcomes in senior leadership roles with significant organisational governance experience

Significant experience in successfully leading one or more teams or organisations through complex and substantial change

Ability to collaborate with integrity, transparency, respect and accountability

RDAs assist to bridge the regional development gaps in regions by working with a broad range of stakeholders across sectors and supporting the delivery of Australian Government strategic priorities.
