Job summary

Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business in Townsville, QLD is seeking a Regional Coordinator to research, analyse and develop plans addressing the Director (Northern)'s area, and to liaise with stakeholders across the Department and community.

You will lead a work group, provide executive support, manage issues and oversee regional activities, including security, building programs and continuity planning, while ensuring timely briefs, reports and action

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a work group, building a motivated team via a service delivery framework.
  • Provide and coordinate confidential managerial and administrative support to the Director (Northern).
  • Manage issues and complaints, coordinating timely responses from Product Centre Managers.
  • Oversee regional activities, including security, building and maintenance programmes, and continuity plans.
  • Research, analyse and prepare correspondence, briefs and reports to departmental standards.
  • Coordinate projects at regional level, including special projects and meeting materials.
  • Monitor progress and report to the Director (Northern) on actions.
  • Ensure efficient, effective regional administrative support staff, including performance management and recruitment.
  • Support a safe, healthy workplace by managing work health and safety compliance.

Job description

Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business – Townsville QLD

As a key member of the team, you will research, analyse and develop plans and options to address a range of issues relating to the Director (Northern)'s area of responsibility. You will also liaise with and facilitate interaction between the Director (Northern) and key stakeholders across the Department, relevant agencies and the community.

As the Regional Coordinator, you will:
  • Lead and manage a work group, building a motivated and skilled team through a service delivery framework covering business operations, quality service and resource management to meet client needs.
  • Provide and coordinate confidential, efficient managerial and administrative support to the Director (Northern) across regional functions and programmes.
  • Manage issues and complaints, coordinating timely responses from Product Centre Managers where appropriate.
  • Oversee ongoing regional activities as required, including security, regional building and maintenance programmes, and the preparation and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans.
  • Research, analyse and prepare, or coordinate the timely preparation of, correspondence, briefs and reports, ensuring compliance with departmental standards and timeframes.
  • Coordinate and support the effective delivery of projects and actions at a regional level, including:
    • Undertaking special projects relating to regional business, administration or service delivery.
    • Preparing and coordinating information for meetings and committees, distributing papers and following up actions.
    • Monitoring progress and reporting to the Director (Northern) on projects and action items.
As required by regional arrangements, ensure efficient, effective and client-focused services are delivered by regional administrative support staff, including:

collaboratively developing and managing goals, targets and performance standards proactively supervising all aspects of staff performance management, including recruitment and selection, appraisal and development, ethical behaviour and decision-making providing a safe and healthy workplace by managing resources to ensure compliance with work health and safety and employee rehabilitation legislation, codes of practice, standards, departmental policy and procedures, including risk management and corrective action programmes.
