Postino Osteria in Summer Hill, NSW, part of Maestro Hospitality, seeks a Chef de Partie to lead a section in a Chef’s Hat-awarded Italian restaurant. You’ll work with a talented team in a vibrant kitchen, focusing on high-quality, handmade pasta and seasonal dishes.

The role offers a competitive AU$79,000–$85,000 base plus superannuation and tips, with ongoing development and multiple award-winning venues within the group.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ relevant experience in a commercial restaurant kitchen and/or a Diploma of Hospitality or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience preparing and cooking Italian cuisine
• Strong knowledge of traditional Italian cooking techniques
• Experience working within a busy, quality-focused restaurant environment
• Excellent attention to detail and consistency
• The ability to remain calm, organised and focused during high-volume service
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A positive attitude and professional approach
• A genuine desire to continue learning and developing as a chef
• Full Australian working rights

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present dishes to a consistently high standard
• Take ownership of your section throughout preparation and service
• Work closely with the Head Chef on menu development, recipe testing and seasonal specials
• Maintain exceptional standards of quality, presentation and consistency
• Work with fresh, seasonal produce and traditional Italian cooking techniques
• Support and mentor junior members of the kitchen brigade
• Assist with stock control, ordering, waste management and food costs
• Maintain excellent food safety, cleanliness and HACCP standards
• Collaborate with the FOH team to deliver an exceptional overall guest experience
• Contribute positively to a professional, organised and high-performing kitchen culture
