Job summary

Postino Osteria in Summer Hill, Sydney, part of Maestro Hospitality, is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to own their station and uphold high standards in a Chef’s Hat kitchen. You will prepare and present Italian dishes, mentor juniors and work with the Head Chef on menu development and seasonal specials.

We offer a competitive salary of AUD 79,000–85,000 plus superannuation and tips, ongoing training and clear career progression within a growing group of award‑winning venues.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ relevant experience in a commercial restaurant kitchen
• Diploma of Hospitality or equivalent qualification
• Strong knowledge of traditional Italian cooking techniques
• Food Safety Supervisor certification
• High standards of quality, presentation and consistency
• Excellent attention to detail and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present Italian dishes to a consistently high standard
• Take ownership of your section throughout preparation and service
• Work with Head Chef on menu development, recipe testing and seasonal specials
• Maintain HACCP and food safety standards
• Mentor junior kitchen staff and manage stock control and food costs
