Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU seeks a passionate Chef, Cook or Apprentice to prepare delicious meals in a busy New South Wales café. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, delivering quality dining experiences while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

The role offers ongoing development opportunities, flexible rosters and visa sponsorship for suitable candidates. Prior hospitality experience is preferred, with a positive attitude and strong teamwork essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Chef, Cook, or Apprentice Cook in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy service period.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure all dishes are presented to a high standard before service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and WHS procedures.
• Monitor food quality, freshness and portion control.
• Assist with stock control, inventory management and ordering supplies.
• Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality.
• Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to provide excellent customer service.
