Job summary

The Criterion Hotel Motel in Rockhampton, part of Waymark Hotels, is seeking a Cook or Chef to join the team. Using fresh local produce, the kitchen delivers modern, diverse cuisine across our venues and maintains a high standard of service.

Daily tasks include keeping a proactive kitchen operation, preparing meals on time, managing stock, assisting with menu changes, and working across all shifts in a busy hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Available to work any hospitality hours.
• Able to work well under high pressure and communicate clearly with the team.
• Formal qualifications or at least 3 years of relevant experience if no formal qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assisting our team in maintaining an efficient and proactive kitchen operation across both venues
• Ensuring all meals are of high quality and are prepared on time
• Utilising a variety of fresh, frozen, and prepared ingredients to prepare, cook, and present a range of dishes according to a seasonal menu
• Practicing effective stock rotation and wastage minimisation procedures
• Assisting with menu changes when required

The Criterion Hotel Motel, Rockhampton, apart of Waymark Hotels, is seeking a Cook or Chef to join the team! Using only the freshest local produce, our restaurant is well known for its diverse and modern cuisine.

As a Chef / Cook, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Assisting our team in maintaining an efficient and proactive kitchen operation across both venues
• Ensuring all meals are of high quality and are prepared on time
• Utilising a variety of fresh, frozen, and prepared ingredients to prepare, cook, and present a range of dishes according to a seasonal menu
• Practicing effective stock rotation and wastage minimisation procedures
• Assisting with menu changes when required

Successful Candidate:

To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:

• Previous experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
• Availability to work any hospitality hours
• Ability to work well under a high-pressure environment
• Brilliant communication skills to all team members

Applicants should have formal qualifications and at least 1 years of relevant employment experience or, in the absence of formal qualifications, have at least 3 years of relevant employment experience.

• Full-time salary between $69,000 - $100,000 + Superannuation depending on experience
