Job summary

Rockpool Residential Aged Care is seeking a dedicated chef/cook to join our hands‑on kitchen team. You will prepare nutritious, well‑presented meals tailored to resident dietary and cultural needs, following menus and production schedules with a focus on quality and presentation.

You will work in a supportive environment, maintaining strict food safety standards and contributing to special events and resident functions that enhance daily life.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (essential).
• Food Safety Supervisor Certification (essential) or willingness to obtain.
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or apprenticeship completion (desirable).
• Solid cooking skills: preparation, cooking, plating and presentation.
• Ability to cook for diverse dietary needs including texture‑modified and allergen‑free.
• Knowledge of HACCP and kitchen hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals to Rockpool's quality standards, nutritious and well‑presented.
• Follow menus, recipes, and production schedules as directed.
• Accommodate resident dietary and cultural needs in meal planning.
• Maintain food safety documentation and cleaning logs.
• Keep work areas clean and hygienic; assist with stock rotation.
• Report equipment faults or supply shortages promptly.
• Contribute to a positive kitchen culture and resident events.
