The Seabreeze Hotel in Mackay, part of Waymark Hotels, is seeking a Cook or Chef to join the team. Using only fresh local produce, the restaurant is known for its diverse and modern cuisine.

As a Chef / Cook, you will support a busy kitchen, ensure high quality meals are prepared on time, and work across multiple venues. Strong communication and a calm, efficient approach are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications and 1+ year experience or 3+ years without formal qualifications required.
• Experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen is essential.
• Ability to work across times and venues as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining efficient kitchen operations across venues.
• Prepare meals to high quality standards and on time.
• Use fresh, frozen, and prepared ingredients per seasonal menu.
• Practice stock rotation and minimise waste; assist with menu changes.

Job description

The Seabreeze Hotel, Mackay, apart of Waymark Hotels, is seeking a Cook or Chef to join the team! Using only the freshest local produce, our restaurant is well known for its diverse and modern cuisine.

As a Chef / Cook, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Assisting our team in maintaining an efficient and proactive kitchen operation across both venues
• Ensuring all meals are of high quality and are prepared on time
• Utilising a variety of fresh, frozen, and prepared ingredients to prepare, cook, and present a range of dishes according to a seasonal menu
• Practicing effective stock rotation and wastage minimisation procedures
• Assisting with menu changes when required

Successful Candidate:

To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:

• Previous experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
• Availability to work any hospitality hours
• Ability to work well under a high-pressure environment
• Brilliant communication skills to all team members

Applicants should have formal qualifications and at least 1 years of relevant employment experience or, in the absence of formal qualifications, have at least 3 years of relevant employment experience.

The successful candidate will be provided with the following:

• Full-time salary between $69,000 - $100,000 + Superannuation depending on experience
