Job summary

The Maraboon Tavern in Emerald, part of Waymark Hotels, is seeking a Cook or Chef to join the team. Using fresh local produce, our restaurant delivers diverse and modern cuisine across its venues.

As a Chef / Cook, you will maintain an efficient kitchen, ensure meals are high quality and timely, and support menu changes while minimising waste. Applicants should have formal qualifications or 1–3 years relevant experience and be able to work flexible hospitality hours.

• Experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Availability to work any hospitality hours.
• Ability to work well under a high-pressure environment.
• Strong communication with team members.

Responsibilities

• Assisting our team in maintaining an efficient and proactive kitchen operation across both venues.
• Ensuring all meals are of high quality and are prepared on time.
• Utilising a variety of fresh, frozen, and prepared ingredients to prepare, cook, and present a range of dishes according to a seasonal menu.
• Practicing effective stock rotation and wastage minimisation procedures.
• Assisting with menu changes when required.

The Maraboon Tavern, Emerald, apart of Waymark Hotels, is seeking a Cook or Chef to join the team! Using only the freshest local produce, our restaurant is well known for its diverse and modern cuisine.

As a Chef / Cook, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Assisting our team in maintaining an efficient and proactive kitchen operation across both venues
• Ensuring all meals are of high quality and are prepared on time
• Utilising a variety of fresh, frozen, and prepared ingredients to prepare, cook, and present a range of dishes according to a seasonal menu
• Practicing effective stock rotation and wastage minimisation procedures
• Assisting with menu changes when required

Successful Candidate:

To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:

• Previous experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
• Availability to work any hospitality hours
• Ability to work well under a high-pressure environment
• Brilliant communication skills to all team members

Applicants should have formal qualifications and at least 1 years of relevant employment experience or, in the absence of formal qualifications, have at least 3 years of relevant employment experience.
