Job summary

Catering HQ is seeking a talented Chef and Kitchen Hand to join our kitchen teams at Rowers on Cooks River in Sydney. We have opportunities for all levels of kitchen experience to join our team, with a focus on quality, plating, and service excellence.

The role requires a Commercial Cookery qualification for the Chef position and at least 1 year in a similar role, with flexibility in hours and a collaborative, positive team spirit.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must display excellent prep, cooking and plating skills
• Demonstrate a keen interest in growing food trends, techniques and the ability to contribute to menu planning
• Strong emphasis on quality and consistency of dishes
• Ability to contribute to menu planning
• Ability to handle large service numbers
• Exceptional customer care and service skills and knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS
• Excellent supportive and leadership skill set
• Confidence to take charge and own the result, yet humble enough to listen and learn
• Honest and results focused - able to give and receive genuine feedback and take action as needed
• Immaculate presentation and grooming
• Should be able to control and manage daily kitchen functions

KEY QUALITIES

• A relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (required for Chef role)
• At least 1 years' experience in a similar position
• Be flexible with working hours
• A team spirit, bright and positive demeanour
