Compass Group Pty Limited (Chartwells) in Brisbane, QLD is seeking a Full-time Chef to join our school catering kitchen. The role covers food preparation, large-volume cooking, and maintaining strict hygiene standards in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, with proven bulk cooking experience and strong knowledge of food safety and allergen management.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent Chef trade qualification).
• Experience in bulk cooking.
• Proven experience delivering high-quality catering for meetings, events, and functions.

Responsabilités

• Food preparation and cooking.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety, infection control, and cleanliness in accordance with Compass standards.
• Providing friendly customer service.
• Function catering and large-volume cooking.
• Stocktaking and inventory control.
• Ensuring HACCP compliance, food safety procedures, and adherence to OH&S regulations.
• General kitchen and cleaning duties as required.

THE POSITION

• Food preparation and cooking
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety, infection control, and cleanliness in accordance with Compass standards
• Providing friendly customer service
• Function catering and large-volume cooking
• Stocktaking and inventory control
• Ensuring HACCP compliance, food safety procedures, and adherence to OH&S regulations
• General kitchen and cleaning duties as required

THE PERSON

• Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent Chef trade qualification)
• Experience in bulk cooking
• Proven experience delivering high-quality catering for meetings, events, and functions
• Highly organised, energetic, and hands‑on leader
• Passionate about healthy and nutritious food, with strong knowledge of food safety and allergen management compliance
• Experience working in functions and large-volume kitchens
• Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
• Sound understanding of OH&S regulations, food safety requirements, and HACCP compliance
