Job description

Adelaide University is seeking an experienced IT Organisational Change Manager to support a large, multi-year transformation portfolio. Working within the IT Change Management team and reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Change and Adoption, you will be responsible for driving the successful adoption of key IT infrastructure and application upgrade initiatives across the University.

The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and embedding change across people, processes, and technology while minimizing disruption to business-as-usual operations and ensuring successful technology adoption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead organisational change activities across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application upgrade projects.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders, business owners, and project teams to build awareness, readiness, and commitment to change.
  • Conduct change impact assessments and develop mitigation strategies across people, processes, and technology.
  • Design and implement comprehensive change management strategies and adoption plans.
  • Develop and execute enterprise-wide communication and engagement plans.
  • Coordinate training, learning, and enablement activities to support adoption of new technologies and ways of working.
  • Monitor adoption, resistance, and change risks, providing recommendations and insights to project governance forums.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement activities to ensure alignment, readiness, and buy-in across diverse user groups.
  • Support the transition of projects into business-as-usual operations and ensure sustainable change outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading large-scale IT organisational change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering change programs within complex IT environments, including cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Strong track record of partnering with senior leaders to deliver enterprise-wide transformation programs.
  • Proven ability to design and implement change strategies that drive stakeholder engagement, behavioural change, and technology adoption.
  • Experience developing and delivering compelling communication and engagement strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and influencing skills.
  • Experience working across multiple projects and managing competing priorities in fast-paced environments.
Qualifications
  • Relevant Change Management certification (e.g., Prosci).
  • Agile certification and/or experience working in Agile delivery environments.
  • Human-Centred Design qualifications or practical experience.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Information Technology, Organisational Psychology, or a related field is desirable.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience within Higher Education, Government, or large enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation, IT infrastructure upgrades, and enterprise application implementations.
