Job summary

Southern Cross Care is seeking a Health and Wellness Promoter to help residents participate in physical activity through individual and group exercise programs. This casual role focuses on improving independence and quality of life, employing evidence-based approaches and tailoring plans with a supportive team.

You will oversee health and wellness programs across homes, audit adherence to procedures, and collaborate with partners to promote healthy ageing.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or higher in Fitness/Exercise Science with current accreditation.
• Experience designing strength and exercise programs for older adults.
• Ability to help residents stay independent and active.
• Strong communication and teamwork with external partners.
• Good time management and proficiency with Google Suite and databases.

Responsibilities

• Help residents stay independent, healthy, and improve their quality of life.
• Use evidence-based methods like goal setting and strength training to support healthy ageing.
• Work with a team to create tailored exercise plans and step in early to prevent physical decline.
• Manage health and wellness programs across all homes and audit them to follow company procedures.
