Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking a Casual Lifestyle Officer to lead engaging, resident-focused leisure programs across Eastern Suburbs homes. You will design, deliver and assess activities that support social, emotional, physical, cultural and spiritual needs, working with the interdisciplinary team to promote choice and personal fulfilment.

The role involves creating meaningful opportunities, one-to-one and group activities, and participating in quality improvement and accreditation

Qualifications

• Certificate IV Leisure and Health is essential.
• Diversional Therapy qualifications or aged care specific qualifications are desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to undertake leisure-based assessments and care planning with residents.
• Knowledge of Aged Care Standards and accreditation processes.
• Understanding of relevant laws, acts, regulations, charters and codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meaningful life programs to exercise residents' independence and choices.
• Undertake resident assessments and complete documentation.
• Design and facilitate individualised leisure and lifestyle programs.
• Provide one-to-one and group activities and special events.
• Assist residents to maintain independence and community participation.
• Monitor and evaluate programs and suggest improvements.
• Support accreditation processes and work with the team to ensure quality.
