Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking an enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant to join our North Turramurra facility on a full-time basis (76 hours per fortnight). You will work with Physiotherapists and Allied Health Professionals to deliver engaging exercise programs for older adults, helping residents stay strong and independent.

You will coordinate group sessions and 1:1 activities, support safe equipment use, and contribute to a warm, compassionate aged care environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent such as Cert III/IV in Fitness) is required.
• Experience in physiotherapy assistance is preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support safe and effective exercise in the aged.
• Warm, friendly and empathic approach with a passion for aged care.
• Strong computer literacy and numeracy skills are essential.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines; self-management within supervised scope.
• NDIS Check is required.

Responsibilities

• Support older adults to stay active, independent and engaged in daily life.
• Deliver safe, meaningful and enjoyable exercise and re-enablement programs.
• Work with Physiotherapists and Allied Health Professionals to plan and deliver activities.
• Lead group fitness sessions and give personalised 1:1 activities.
• Coordinate wellness gyms and promote safe equipment use.
