Job summary

Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. is seeking an Exercise / Fitness Instructor to support residents with engaging, safe physical activity through individual and group programs.

This permanent part-time role is Fridays 08:30–16:36 (15.2 hours per fortnight). You will work with a multidisciplinary team to tailor programs, promote healthy ageing, and ensure program delivery meets quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or higher in Fitness, Exercise Science, Personal Training, or Exercise Physiology.
• Current accreditation with Physical Activity Australia, AUSActive or Exercise & Sports Science Australia.
• Experience designing exercise programs for older people, including frailty.
• Delivery of progressive resistance training for older adults.

Responsibilities

• Enable residents to maximise independence and well-being.
• Plan and deliver high quality health and wellness services.
• Develop tailored exercise programs with a multidisciplinary team.
• Identify frailty early and intervene to optimise function.
• Implement programs across all residential homes.
• Audit programs for compliance with procedures.
• Maintain Health and Wellness Centre resources.
