Job summary

Oaks Lake Crackenback Resort, part of Minor Hotels, is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to support our kitchen team on a casual basis. You will assist with dish preparation and presentation, contribute to a high-quality dining experience, and collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations.

Ideal candidates will hold a Certificate III in Cookery, understand HACCP and OH&S requirements, and be flexible across shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Cookery required.
• Knowledge of Modern Australian Cuisine.
• Understanding of HACCP and Workplace Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic team environment.
• Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends.
• Ability to coach and motivate less experienced kitchen team members.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes across all sections of the kitchen.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Take initiative to develop culinary skills and grow within a professional kitchen environment.
• Support less experienced team members when required.
