Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team on a casual basis. You will assist with preparation and presentation of dishes across all sections, supporting a busy service with enthusiasm.

You’ll work with a professional kitchen crew, adhere to HACCP and OH&S, and look for opportunities to grow culinary skills. Certificate III in Cookery and solid teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Cookery and experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Modern Australian Cuisine.
• Understanding of HACCP and OH&S requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic team.
• Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends.
• Ability to coach and motivate less experienced kitchen team members.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes across all sections of the kitchen.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Take initiative to develop culinary skills and grow within a professional kitchen environment.
• Support less experienced team members when required.
