Job summary

The Salvation Army in Alice Springs, NT is seeking a Case Manager for the Open House program. This full-time role involves intake, assessment, and collaborative case planning to support men referred through the justice system toward housing and wellbeing goals.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, maintain accurate records, and advocate for clients while upholding cultural safety and trauma-informed practice.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Community Services or related qualification.
• Experience supporting people in a social services environment.
• Demonstrated case management experience and skills.
• Empathy, structure and good judgement in casework.
• Ability to engage with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal communities.

Many people experience unstable housing alongside mental health challenges, alcohol and other drug concerns and involvement with the justice system. Access to consistent support can be limited, and the work of our frontline teams truly matters.

As a Case Manager at Open House, you will walk alongside men referred through the justice system, including those on bail or parole, helping them stabilise, meet their conditions and work towards long term housing and wellbeing goals. You will create a safe,structuredand supportive environment where participants feel respected,understoodand empowered. Your work directly contributes to improved outcomes for individuals and strengthens the broader community.

About the role

You will provide case management to participants living in the Men’s Open House supported accommodation program. Working closely with the Team Leader and a multidisciplinary team, you will undertake intake and assessment, develop collaborative case plans and support participants to achieve self-determined goals.

Your role includes advocating for clients,assistingthem to access services, supportingappointmentsandmaintainingaccuraterecords in line with TSA standards. You willidentifyrisks, respond appropriately to high-risksituationsand ensure case management aligns with the National Homelessness Stream Model of Care.

This full-time permanent position reports to the Team Leader and payisin accordance witha SCHADS Level 4.

How you will make an impact

• Undertake intake and assessment to build a shared understanding of participant needs and strengths
• Develop individual case plans in collaboration with participants
• Support participants to meet bail or parole conditions and work towards long term goals
• Assistparticipants to access services, attendappointmentsand build community supports
• Advocate on behalf of participants with government and non-government agencies
• Maintainaccurate, up to date client records and data in line with TSA standards
• Monitor progress and review case plans to ensure they continue to meet participant needs
• Identifyrisks and elevate concerns to the Team Leader asrequired
• Contribute to a safe,structuredand supportive environment within the residential facility

What you will bring

• Certificate IV in Community Services or a related qualification

• Case management skills grounded in empathy,structureand good judgement
• Confidence working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds

What we offer

• $51.37 – $55.28 hourly + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties, allowances, NFP salary packaging
