Job summary

Life Without Barriers is hiring a Case Coordinator for the National Immigration Support Service in Dandenong, VIC. The role supports asylum seekers and refugees with intake assessments, SRSS applications, and referrals to community services. The position is permanent, full-time (38 hours per week), with probation and probity checks as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Client intake and case coordination experience.
• Ability to perform comprehensive assessments across finances, health, housing, social needs, vocational skills and education.
• Experience managing clients with complex physical and mental health issues.
• Understanding of casework practices for culturally and linguistically diverse clients.
• Multilingual communication skills are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments to determine client eligibility and immediate support needs.
• Collaborate with clients to prepare, complete, and submit SRSS applications accurately and timely.
• Assist clients with referrals to community supports and services for coordinated pathways.
• Ensure client safety through risk assessments and safety plans with accurate records.
• Build trust-based relationships using strengths-based, culturally responsive approaches.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders and represent the program within the community.
• Deliver presentations and information sessions to external organisations about NISS supports and referral pathways.
