Job summary

Life Without Barriers in Australia is seeking a Senior Case Manager for the National Immigration Support Service (NISS) to deliver intensive case management for asylum seekers and families. You will mentor Case Coordinators and Cultural Support workers while navigating complex needs with trauma-informed care.

The role is permanent, full-time (38 hours weekly) with flexible office/home work options in Milton or Springwood.

Qualifications

• A recognised Degree qualification in Social Work, social sciences, psychology, nursing or mental health or a recognised diploma in a related field and working toward a degree qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in case plan outcomes with asylum seekers with complex needs including trauma, mental health, psychical health, child protection, family violence.
• Demonstrated experience in developing positive developmental relationship, building trust with NISS clients through active engagement and placing the best interest of the client at the centre of case planning.
• Demonstrated experience in working autonomously and implementing therapeutic case plans for multiple clients simultaneously.
• Demonstrated experience in leadership/management, coaching, mentoring, and providing support and training to mangers and staff.
• Working knowledge of the relevant legislative and regulatory environment for areas of business responsibility, including NISS program
• Demonstrated understanding of current case work practice for NISSS clients including trauma informed, therapeutic case plans and practice.
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals, families and groups from a strength base and culturally appropriate framework.
• Proficient ability in using the Microsoft office suite of programs.
• Current Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive case management support to complex asylum seekers (individuals & families) primarily within the Status Resolution Support Service program.
• Ensure delivery of quality evidence-based services and promoting respectful, purposeful casework.
• Offer guidance, support, mentoring and training to Case Coordinators and Cultural Support workers.
