Job summary

Uniting Mingaletta in Port Macquarie is seeking a dedicated Care Worker to provide compassionate, person-centred support to residents in our household-model aged care facility. You'll help residents maintain independence and enjoy a safe, nurturing environment.

The role covers daily living assistance, social activities participation, and supporting memory care needs. Training provided; a Certificate III/IV in Individual Support is preferred, with 3–6 months' aged care experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent.
• 3–6 months experience in aged or community care.
• Experience in memory support or household living model is highly desirable.
• Adaptable, empathetic and aligned with Uniting values of compassion, respect, imagination and boldness.

Responsibilities

A Day in the Life, with Uniting Aged Care

Position Overview:

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings and
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Hold a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification.
• Must have 3-6 months experience in Aged Care or Community Care.
• Experience in memory support or household living model is highly desirable.
• Must have 3-6 months experience in Aged Care or Community Care.
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.
• A genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
