Job summary

Uniting Yamba is seeking a Care Worker to provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents in our aged care facility. You will support residents to maintain independence and quality of life in a safe, nurturing environment, with shifts negotiable based on availability.

This part-time role offers training and development, a not-for-profit salary packaging option, and a supportive team committed to compassionate, respectful care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/Individual Support (Ageing)
• Be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, aligned with Uniting values
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents
• Assist with daily living activities and mobility
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities

Position Overview

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

Shifts/hours negotiable based on availability and will be discussed during the interview.

Key Responsibilities

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/Individual Support (Ageing),
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care. (Highly desirable, not mandatory)
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.
• A genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
