Job summary

Uniting is seeking a Care Worker to provide person-centred care for residents in our aged care facility. You will help residents maintain independence and quality of life in a safe, nurturing environment.

Permanent Part-Time opportunities exist across morning, afternoon and night shifts with casual options. A minimum of two days per week is required, with flexibility to adapt to changing shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification.
• Medication competency is desirable but not mandatory.
• Experience in Aged Care or Community Care is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Assist with daily living activities (showering, hygiene, dressing, mealtimes, mobility).
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings.
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Position Overview

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

Permanent Part-Time opportunities are available across morning, afternoon and night shifts, with casual arrangements also considered. A minimum availability of two days per week is required.

Key Responsibilities

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification.
• Medication competency (Desirable not mandatory)
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care. (Highly Desirable, not mandatory)
• Nursing students welcome to apply; flexible availability can be discussed.
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.

• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.
