Job summary

The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is seeking a motivated Caravan Park Attendant to join Torquay Foreshore Caravan Park. This hands-on role blends front-of-house service with cleaning, grounds maintenance and park upkeep to deliver a welcoming guest experience.

You'll work as part of a small team, assisting with bookings, information and guest queries, while maintaining cabins and facilities to a high standard and contributing to a safe, well-presented park.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly customer service in person, on the phone or by email.
• Assist with bookings and guest enquiries using the reservation system.
• Provide information and resolve guest concerns promptly.
• Maintain high cleanliness across cabins, blocks, kitchens and facilities.
• Carry out grounds maintenance including mowing, pruning and mulching.
• Perform basic maintenance and handyman tasks in cabins.
• Support park presentation and safety through rubbish removal and inspections.
• Assist with stock handling, linen and other operational duties.
• Collaborate with Park Managers and team to deliver great guest experiences.

About The Role

The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCAPA) is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Caravan Park Attendant to join the team at Torquay Foreshore Caravan Park.

This is a hands-on, varied role that combines front-of-house customer service with cleaning, grounds maintenance and general park upkeep. As one of the first points of contact for guests, you will help create a welcoming experience while ensuring the park, facilities and accommodation are maintained to a high standard.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you'll contribute to the ongoing success of one of Victoria's most popular coastal holiday destinations.

What You'll Do

In this varied role, you will:

• Deliver friendly and professional customer service to guests in person, over the phone and via email.
• Assist with bookings, reservations and guest enquiries using our reservation management system.
• Provide information to visitors and help resolve customer concerns in a positive and timely manner.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across cabins, amenities blocks, kitchens, offices and communal facilities.
• Carry out grounds maintenance activities including mowing, pruning, weeding, mulching, irrigation and general landscaping.
• Perform basic maintenance and handyman tasks such as painting, minor carpentry repairs and cabin upkeep.
• Support the presentation and safety of the park through rubbish removal, site inspections and general upkeep.
• Assist with stock handling, linen management and other operational duties as required.
• Work collaboratively with Park Managers, Duty Managers and team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

You'll Bring

• Experience in customer service, hospitality, retail or other front-of-house environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage positively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Practical cleaning experience and a commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation.
• Grounds maintenance, landscaping or gardening skills, or a willingness to learn.
• General maintenance or handyman skills with the ability to safely use tools and equipment.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and a willingness to contribute across all areas of park operations.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications And Experience Include

• First Aid Certificate.
• Experience using RMS or similar booking systems.
• Knowledge of safe manual handling practices and chemical handling.
• Previous experience in caravan parks, tourism, accommodation or hospitality settings.
