Job summary

Melbourne Park is seeking a casual Car Park Control Room Operator in Melbourne, VIC, to deliver high levels of customer service and oversee safe, efficient car park operations during a busy event calendar.

You will monitor operations, coordinate attendants, and respond to incidents while maintaining logs and ensuring safety standards across ingress and egress periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer service-facing role, ideally within events, transport, parking or operational environments.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive during incidents and high-demand periods.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers, field teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor car park operations for hazards, incidents, congestion and access issues.
• Coordinate parking attendants and field teams to meet changing needs.
• Support safe event ingress, egress and peak operational periods across the precinct.
• Maintain clear radio communications and provide timely updates to supervisors and stakeholders.
• Respond to customer and operational enquiries and coordinate resolutions.
• Log and handover shift information with accuracy.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a casual Car Park Control Room Operator, you will play a key frontline role in delivering high levels of customer service and safe, efficient and seamless car park operations across Melbourne Park’s busy event calendar.Working in a fast-paced event environment, you will oversee car park activity, coordinate parking attendants and field teams, respond to operational and customer issues and support the smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrians during event ingress, egress and peak periods.You’ll work closely with event operations, security, traffic management, contractors and other stakeholders to identify emerging issues, coordinate timely responses and ensure a consistently high standard of safety, service and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor car park operations for hazards, incidents, congestion, access issues and emerging risks, escalating matters as required.
• Coordinate parking attendants and field teams in response to changing operational conditions and event requirements.
• Support safe and efficient event ingress, egress and peak operational periods across the precinct.
• Maintain clear and effective radio communication with field teams, supervisors and key stakeholders, providing timely operational updates and direction.
• Respond to customer and operational enquiries, triage issues and coordinate appropriate resolutions.
• Monitor operational systems, cameras and communications, while maintaining accurate logs, incident records and shift handovers.

• Experience in a customer service-facing role, ideally within an event, transport, parking or operational environment.
• The ability to remain calm, composed and decisive during incidents and periods of high demand.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently engage with customers, field teams and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately maintain operational logs, records and incident reports.
• A proactive approach to identifying issues, managing risks and escalating matters appropriately.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a dynamic environment where priorities can change quickly.
