Job summary

St Scholastica's College Glebe is seeking a motivated Maintenance Officer to join the Facilities Team on a permanent full-time basis. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, support the presentation and safety of the campus, and assist with day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities include repairs to doors, locks and furniture, general building maintenance, garden upkeep, event setups, operating tools and College vehicles, liaising with contractors, and reporting safety hazards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised trade qualification in carpentry.
• Experience in handyman and carpentry services.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Physically able to lift up to 20kg and perform manual labour.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs across the College campus.
• Complete routine inspections and respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Carry out handyman duties including painting, carpentry, repairs, furniture assembly, lock and hardware maintenance, and basic building works.
• Maintain gardens, lawns, pathways and outdoor spaces.
• Assist with event, examination and function set-ups and pack-downs, possibly after-hours.
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment and College vehicles safely.
• Support building security including opening and securing buildings and grounds.
• Liaise with contractors and assist with the coordination of maintenance works.
• Identify and report safety hazards and ensure WHS compliance.
• Assist with deliveries, stock control and general facilities operations.
• Must take charge of the College's fleet operations (2 buses and 2 vans).
