Job summary

Engineeringtradesaustralia seeks experienced Cable Jointers to support major Sydney infrastructure and utilities projects, including Orchard Hills and Sydney Airport. You will perform installation, jointing, testing and commissioning of cables in utility environments, abiding by safety standards.

Valid ASP1 accreditation, White Card and a current driver’s licence are essential. Projects require passing site inductions and medicals where required, with potential for ongoing, long-term

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Installation, jointing, testing and commissioning of underground and overhead electrical cables.
• Carry out cable jointing and termination works to network standards.

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, plans and technical documentation.
• Maintain compliance with project safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers and project teams to deliver outcomes.

Cable Jointer (ASP1 Accredited)

Location: Sydney, NSW

Projects: Orchard Hills & Sydney Airport

Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time (depending on project requirements)

About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced Cable Jointers to join major infrastructure and utilities projects across Orchard Hills and Sydney Airport. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high profile electrical distribution projects within the Sydney network.

Successful candidates will have experience working within utility environments and hold the required accreditations to perform works on both Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, jointing, testing and commissioning of underground and overhead electrical cables.
• Carry out cable jointing and termination works in accordance with network standards and specifications.
• Work safely within live electrical environments and utility network sites.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, plans, and technical documentation.
• Maintain compliance with project safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with supervisors, engineers and project teams to deliver project outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience as a Cable Jointer within utility or infrastructure projects.
• Accredited and authorised to work on Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy networks.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and network standards.
• White Card (Construction Induction Card).
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Ability to pass site specific inductions and medical requirements where required.

Essential Requirements

• Current ASP1 Accreditation (Accredited Service Provider Level 1).
• Demonstrated experience as a Cable Jointer within utility or infrastructure projects.
• Accredited and authorised to work on Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy networks.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and network standards.
• White Card (Construction Induction Card).
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Ability to pass site specific inductions and medical requirements where required.

Desirable Qualifications

• High Voltage (HV) cable jointing experience.
• Substation or distribution network experience.
• EWP, Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
