Job summary

Essential Energy in Lismore, NSW, seeks a qualified Cable Jointer to join the Operations, People and Safety team. You’ll construct, install, connect, maintain and repair HV/LV distribution assets, with emphasis on underground networks, while collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders.

Role requires a Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Cable Jointing or equivalent, a valid licence, and induction certification. Relocation and a comprehensive benefits package are available.

• Drivers licence required.
• WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate required.

About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a qualified Cable Jointer to join our Operations, People and Safety team based from Lismore.

Being a Cable Jointer means you are responsible for the general construction, installation, connection, maintenance and repair of both high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) distribution network assets and equipment with emphasis on those components directly related to the underground network.

About You

• Application of knowledge required to undertake the Cable Jointer role in an energy distribution environment
• Experience working effectively during times of both planned and unplanned events
• Participating and applying audits and safety processes
• Knowledge of relevant system switching, access procedure principles, tools, plant and equipment
• Complying and implementing enterprise WHS and environmental procedures and processes.
• Application of Cable Jointer trade skills in an energy distribution environment
• Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
• Able to successfully liaise with stakeholders and customers
• Computer skills appropriate for the role.

Required Qualifications

• Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Cable Jointing with electives in Install, Maintain, Fault Find, Switching and repair or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
• Drivers licence
• WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate
• Attainment and ongoing successful maintenance of all regulatory, industry and business.
