Job summary

Skytrans Australia is seeking dedicated Cabin Crew based in Sydney to deliver exceptional customer service on the Sydney to Lord Howe Island route. You will operate as solo cabin crew on a Dash 8, upholding hospitality, safety and efficiency standards.

You will interact with a diverse range of passengers, maintain calm under pressure, assist in emergencies, and help with cabin cleaning and restocking between flights. A passion for aviation and service is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication with diverse passengers.
• Ability to follow safety and emergency procedures.
• Current First Aid certificate (HLTAID011) and CPR accepted.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Announce and demonstrate safety procedures and onboard announcements.
• Direct and assist passengers during emergencies with calm efficiency.
• Provide outstanding service to all passengers, including unaccompanied minors and non native English speakers.
• Assist in cabin cleaning between flights to maintain a pristine environment.
• Coordinate basic first aid as needed and liaise with pilots for operational needs.
• Ensure adequate food, beverages, and supplies are available.

About the Role.

As a member of the Cabin Crew team, you are a dedicated and enthusiastic professional with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. You embody the highest standards of hospitality, safety, and efficiency. You possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, allowing you to interact effectively with a diverse range of passengers. You have the ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations, while being comfortable operating as solo cabin crew and on smaller aircraft.

What You Will Do.

• Announce and demonstrate safety and emergency procedures —you're the guardian of passenger safety.
• Direct and assist passengers in the event of an emergency —you remain calm and capable under pressure.
• Provide outstanding support to all passengers, including unaccompanied minors, nervous travellers, and those with limited English proficiency.
• Assist in cleaning the cabin between flights —maintaining a pristine environment for every journey.
• Administer first aid to passengers or coordinate first aid efforts, as required.
• Provide the highest possible service to our passengers by ensuring all needs are met, and exceeded where possible.
• Liaise with the pilot-in-command in order to properly coordinate the effects of any operational requirements (e.g., weather, passenger requirements, early descents, diversions, etc.).
• Ensure that food, beverages, and other supplies are in adequate supply.

Minimum Requirements.

• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Hold a current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011), CPR Certificate (HLTAID009), and Responsible Service of Alcohol Statement (or willing to obtain).
• Hold a valid passport with at least 6 months' validity.
• Able to swim fully clothed for 50 meters and tread water for 3 minutes.
• Have excellent health and fitness, normal function of ear, nose, and throat, and adequate vision (with or without glasses).
• Available to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
• Have prior customer service experience and a high level of personal presentation.
• Previous experience on the Dash 8 or similar aircraft is highly regarded.

English Language Requirements.

Must meet one of the following:

• Completed at least 3 years of secondary education in Australia or New Zealand.
• Worked in Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, or USA for 3 of the last 5 years.
• Completed IELTS with an overall score of 5.5.
