Job summary

Monitor Australia, based in Perth, WA, is seeking a hands-on Business Development Manager to win new business and grow our WA presence. This hunter-and-closer role involves on-road demonstrations, pipeline development from first contact to quote and order, and close collaboration with the national sales team.

You will build relationships with arborists, utilities, councils, hire companies and construction firms, log activities in Pipedrive, and travel across WA.

About Monitor

Monitor Australia is a specialist supplier of capital equipment to the tree care, utility, council, hire and construction industries. Our range includes spider lifts, truck-mounted elevated work platforms, wood chippers, stump grinders and mini cranes. Our customers rely on this equipment every day, so they expect a supplier who knows the machines and backs them after the sale.

The role

We're looking for a hands-on Business Development Manager to win new business and grow Monitor's presence across Western Australia. This is a true hunter-and-closer role. You'll be out on the road finding opportunities, demonstrating machines to customers, and taking deals through to quote and order.

You'll report to our national Sales Manager and work closely with the Monitor team in Sydney.

What you'll do

Hunt for new customers across arborists, utilities, councils, hire companies and construction firms in WA

Run on-site machine demonstrations that show customers what our equipment can do

Build and manage your own pipeline from first contact through to quote and order

Follow up quotes and close deals with confidence

Build long-term relationships with customers and keep Monitor front of mind for their next purchase

Log all activity, leads and deals in our CRM (Pipedrive) every day

Share customer and market feedback with the wider team

How you'll be measured

You'll have clear targets for weekly activity, leads converted to quotes, and quotes won. We're looking for someone who thrives on that accountability.

About you

Proven success in B2B sales, ideally selling equipment, machinery, plant or other capital goods

A genuine passion for machinery, and confidence demonstrating equipment to customers

A self-starter who is comfortable prospecting, cold calling and getting out to see customers

Disciplined with CRM, reporting and activity targets

Strong negotiation and closing skills

Knowledge of the tree care, utility, civil or hire markets in WA is highly regarded

Current driver's licence, and willing to travel across WA as needed. A heavy vehicle licence is a bonus

Based in Perth, with the right to work in Australia
