Job summary

AGL Energy in Melbourne invites a skilled Business Analyst to join the Product Operations team within the Electrification & Innovation portfolio for a six-month assignment. You will help define requirements bridging Product, Technology and Operations to enable delivery.

You will translate business needs into functional and non-functional specs, map processes, and collaborate with architects, engineers and stakeholders to shape viable solutions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst role.
• Strong experience translating business needs into technical and non-functional requirements.
• Deep technical experience with SAP.
• Experience with Salesforce, integration platforms, APIs or energy retail systems are highly regarded.
• Strong process mapping, data flow, integration and requirements traceability capability.
• Experience working across agile or hybrid technology delivery environments.
• Energy retail, utilities, electrification, EV or battery experience will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support discovery and translate business outcomes into clear functional, technical and non-functional requirements.
• Analyse processes, system interactions, integrations, data flows and operational impacts.
• Partner with architects, engineers, vendors and business stakeholders to assess solution options.
• Develop high-quality artefacts including process maps, data mappings, business rules, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate workshops, challenge assumptions and build alignment across Product, Technology, Operations, Pricing and Regulatory teams.
• Support backlog refinement, testing, release readiness and operational handover.
• Identify and manage cross-system risks, issues and dependencies.
