• Capture and translate business outcomes into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
• Analyze processes, system interactions, data flows and operational impacts.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors and stakeholders to assess options.
• Produce artefacts like process maps, data mappings, business rules, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate workshops and build alignment across teams.
• Support backlog refinement, testing, and release readiness.
• Manage cross-system risks and dependencies.

About the role

An exciting 6-month opportunity has become available for a Business Analyst to join our Product Operations team within our Electrification & Innovation portfolio.

You will support the discovery and definition of complex business and technical requirements across AGL's Electrification & Innovation propositions, including EVs, batteries, Energy Smooth, Energy Balance and emerging initiatives. Acting as the bridge between Product, Technology and Operations, you will help shape solution options, clarify system impacts and ensure requirements are ready for delivery.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst looking to deepen their technical capability and contribute to customer-focused energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support discovery and translate business outcomes into clear functional, technical and non-functional requirements.
• Analyse processes, system interactions, integrations, data flows and operational impacts.
• Partner with architects, engineers, vendors and business stakeholders to assess solution options.
• Develop high-quality artefacts including process maps, data mappings, business rules, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate workshops, challenge assumptions and build alignment across Product, Technology, Operations, Pricing and Regulatory teams.
• Support backlog refinement, testing, release readiness and operational handover.
• Identify and manage cross-system risks, issues and dependencies.

About you

You are an experienced Business Analyst who is comfortable navigating complex systems, ambiguous initiatives and competing priorities. You can communicate technical concepts clearly, build strong stakeholder relationships and proactively drive work from discovery through to implementation.

In addition to the above, you will demonstrate:

• Demonstrated experience in a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst role.
• Strong experience translating business needs into technical and non-functional requirements.
• Deep technical experience with SAP.
• Experience with Salesforce, integration platforms, APIs or energy retail systems are highly regarded.
• Strong process mapping, data flow, integration and requirements traceability capability.
• Experience working across agile or hybrid technology delivery environments.
• Confidence facilitating workshops and influencing stakeholders across technical and business teams.
• Energy retail, utilities, electrification, EV or battery experience will be highly regarded.
