Oaks Cairns Hotel is seeking a passionate and reliable Cook – Breakfast shifts to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis. You will prepare and deliver a high-quality breakfast buffet, assist with opening prep, and help provide an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Ideal candidates have at least 12 months cooking experience, knowledge of various cooking methods, strong teamwork and flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver a high-quality breakfast buffet service.
• Handle opening preparation and station setup.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain strong communication between Front and Back of House.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with WHS requirements.
