Minor Hotels is seeking a skilled Cook for Oaks Cairns Hotel on a part-time basis. You will support the kitchen team by preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to high standards and help deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities include ingredient preparation, plating, maintaining safety and hygiene, and ensuring timely service. A minimum 12 months kitchen experience and strong teamwork are required; shifts include weekdays and weekends with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
• Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with WHS requirements.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
