Oaks Cairns Hotel in Cairns is seeking a passionate and reliable Cook – Breakfast shifts to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis. You will prepare and deliver a high-quality breakfast buffet, assist with opening prep, and help maintain food safety and presentation to guests.

Key requirements include at least 12 months of cooking experience, knowledge of cooking procedures, strong communication and teamwork, and flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver a high-quality breakfast buffet service.
• Handle opening preparation and station setup.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain strong communication between Front and Back of House.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with WHS requirements.

Oaks Cairns Hotel are looking for a passionate and reliable Cook– Breakfastshifts to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis.

This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the breakfast service, preparing and delivering high-quality dishes, and helping provide an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare and deliver a high-quality breakfast buffet service.
• Handle opening preparation and station setup.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain strong communication between Front and Back of House.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Breakfast service: 5:30am – 11:30am
• 3 to 5 shifts per week, including weekends as required

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):

Monday - Friday: $27.08 per hour
Saturday: $33.85 per hour
Sunday: $40.62 per hour

To be successful in this role you will have:
