Job summary

Ibis Styles Broken Hill is seeking a talented Breakfast Cook on a casual basis to join our culinary team in Broken Hill, NSW. You’ll prepare high-quality breakfast dishes for guests during morning service in a fast-paced hotel kitchen.

The ideal candidate has proven hotel/restaurant kitchen experience, strong breakfast know-how, excellent food hygiene, and the ability to perform under pressure. Casual shifts (including weekends) offer scheduling flexibility within a supportive, team‑oriented

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a cook in a hotel/restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of breakfast cuisine and ability to cook a range of breakfast items to a high standard.
• Excellent food hygiene and safety awareness with understanding of food handling best practices.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure during busy service periods.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility and reliability for casual shifts including weekends.
• Relevant qualifications such as a food handler's certificate or hospitality qualification are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast items to hotel standards.
• Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Work efficiently during peak breakfast service times to deliver meals promptly to guests.
• Monitor and manage food inventory, reporting stock levels and placing orders as required.
• Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure seamless service.
• Follow all health, safety and food handling procedures.
• Assist with basic food preparation and mise en place before service begins.
