Job summary

Accor's Novotel Devonport is seeking a Breakfast Cook (Casual) to join a vibrant waterfront hotel team. You will prepare mise en place, assist across service periods, and uphold high standards of food quality and hygiene in a fast-paced kitchen.

Ideal candidates hold a Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain one), with entry-level applicants considered. Early shifts, weekend work and ongoing learning within the Accor network are available.

Qualifications

• Food Handling Certificate essential, or willingness to obtain one.
• Entry-level applicants considered with relevant kitchen interest.
• Basic knife skills and safe ingredient preparation.
• Solid food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
• Able to stay organized and work fast-paced shifts.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Reliable, motivated and eager to learn.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays.

• Receive, check, and store deliveries in line with procedures
• Support the wider kitchen team to ensure efficient service

Breakfast Cook (Casual) – Skills & Qualifications

• Food Handling Certificate essential, or willingness to obtain one
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen preferred, although entry-level applicants will be considered
• Basic knife skills and the ability to prepare ingredients safely and efficiently
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures
• Ability to remain organised and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, motivated and willing to learn
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays
