Alpha Car Hire is seeking an experienced Operations leader to manage a multi-site branch network across the Gold Coast and Brisbane regions. You will report to the CEO and collaborate with the SLT to shape practical improvements and performance across locations.

The role focuses on building capable Branch Managers, improving commercial and customer outcomes, and standardising processes. You will travel regularly and influence workforce planning and operating standards across the network.

Qualifications

• Substantial senior operations leadership across multiple locations.
• Demonstrated success developing managers and improving accountability and performance.
• Strong commercial capability including P&L, budgeting, revenue execution, workforce planning and labour productivity.
• Experience using operational data and scorecards to drive revenue, cost, service and compliance improvements.
• Strong digital capability to streamline workflows and embed consistent practices.
• Track record of leading change and standardising processes across diverse teams.
• High-volume service network experience highly regarded.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced Operations leader to lead Alpha's multi-site branch network. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will have a direct voice in business decisions and genuine scope to turn practical ideas into measurable change.

This permanent, full-time role can be based on the Gold Coast or in Brisbane and requires regular travel across Alpha's branch network.

Your focus will be on building capable Branch Managers, improving commercial and customer outcomes, and creating simpler, more consistent ways of working across locations. You will take ownership of branch network performance, holding Branch Managers accountable for results, ensuring workforce planning aligns with demand and wage budgets, and verifying that operating standards are consistently met. You will use data, technology and direct observation to identify root causes, strengthen processes and embed solutions that teams can sustain.

The role will suit a people-focused, process-minded and solutions-oriented leader who is comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on operational problem-solving in a fast-moving environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Substantial senior operations leadership experience across multiple, geographically dispersed locations.
• Demonstrated success leading and developing managers, with clear examples of improving accountability, capability and performance.
• Strong commercial capability across profit and loss, budgeting, revenue execution, workforce planning and labour productivity.
• Experience using operational data and scorecards to identify root causes and improve revenue, cost, service and compliance outcomes.
• Strong digital capability, including using technology and systems to streamline workflows, improve visibility and embed consistent practices across locations.
• A track record of leading change, standardising processes and sustaining adoption across diverse teams.
• Experience in car rental, automotive services, travel, logistics, retail, hospitality or another high-volume service network is highly regarded.
• A current driver's licence and the capacity to travel regularly across Alpha's branch network.
• A relevant qualification in business, operations or management is desirable but not essential where equivalent experience is demonstrated.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, coach and hold Branch Managers accountable for results, conduct, communication and consistent delivery of business priorities.
• Own branch execution against revenue, rental volume, vehicle availability, waiver and upsell, controllable cost and earnings-per-unit targets.
• Translate business strategy, budgets and priorities into clear branch plans, performance measures and accountabilities.
• Strengthen workforce planning, roster efficiency, labour productivity, recruitment planning and succession coverage across the network.
• Set consistent customer, operational, safety and compliance standards, supported by practical processes, training and audit follow-up.
• Use data, technology and direct observation to solve recurring problems, simplify work and systemise effective practices across locations.
• Partner with Fleet Operations, Finance, People and Culture, Marketing and Customer Experience, Claims and other support teams to remove barriers and deliver shared outcomes.
• Provide concise reporting to the CEO and SLT on branch performance, risks, root causes, corrective actions, owners and timeframes.
